Q - I have never done yoga before will i be okay?
A - Yes you will be, yoga is for everybody, variations and progressions for postures are offered throughout your private or semi private class.
You can work at your own pace.
Try to arrive 15 minutes before the class begins, especially if it's your first time,
Q - I am not flexible can i do yoga?
A - Yes you can! The idea is to start where you are, and in no time, with some practice you will find that you feel more balanced, strong, flexible and have an increased overall sense of wellbeing, its all part of the process.
Yoga is for everybody "find your own flow" all age groups and experience levels are welcome.
Q - What should I bring to classes?
A - A yoga mat (if you have one, if not loan mats are available) and a bottle of water, you may also like to bring a towel.
Q - What is Vinyasa?
A - Vinyasa describes connecting breath with the bodies movements, or synchronising the breath to transition between postures.
Vinyasa flow refers to "rolling" creative sequences that include variations of The Salutes to the Sun.
Q - What is Restorative Yoga?
A - To be gently guided through a series of yoga postures that are generally supported by props such as bolsters, blocks, and blankets to allow for a gentle deep stretch, giving ultimate nurturing relaxation. This class is infused with gentle deep resting down practises and guided mindfulness. A great class if you want to book in some "You time" or if you are presented with a chronic condition that may inhibit stronger physical practice's.
Q - What is Prenatal Yoga? Can i come if i am expecting?
A - Yes you can! (second trimester onwards)
To be guided through a series of pregnancy safe yoga postures, allowing for deep rest, relaxation and restoration. As the body transitions through this amazing time into motherhood, it is so important to honour and nurture yourself and your baby. Creating space for yourself to prepare mind, body and soul for the arrival of your beautiful baby. This class incorporates lovely resting down practise's and guided mindfulness, infused with gentle stretching, allowing for a deep connection with breath and focus, preparing for the birth and a holistic pregnancy process.
Q - What is the dress code?
A - Wear something that is comfortable for you to stretch in, during the classes we move in all different directions so something that allows you to flow freely. Participants usually choose stretchy leggings or track pants and a tank or t-shirt. Yoga is generally practised barefoot so no specialty foot wear is required.
Q - Can i eat before a yoga class?
A - It is generally suggested that you eat a light meal at least two hours before you practice to allow for digestion, if you have a fast system a light snack an hour prior to class may suit you. Avoid alcohol.
Q - Private (1:1) sessions, how do they work?
A - Your private session is tailored to you, you will enjoy one to one instruction working specifically with you and your needs. Simply decide where you would like your session to be, You are very welcome at our studio, or you may request another location (travel fee may be incurred) and then just arrange a time that suits. Your private session will help you to improve your yoga and enable you to work through relaxation techniques at your own pace. One on one sessions are fantastic for many reasons such as working with and focussing on a specific area of your practice or if you have a particular health aim. Classes for groups, clubs and corporate organisations can also be arranged.
